About

This chapter introduces students to the concept that the world is made of 92 different kinds of atoms that make up our natural world, as well as 26 extra ones that clever scientists have made artificially in the lab. We explain what an element is, and how each has its own letters (symbol) and special number, called its Atomic Number.
